RED HOOK, Brooklyn (PIX11) -- Owners of decade-old businesses in Brooklyn are looking for new storefronts to call home after a fire destroyed a Red Hook warehouse where they operated on Thursday.
"Everything is gone," said Lars Noah Balderskilde, the owner of the store Lanoba, in a social media post on Thursday. "Our inventory and our workshop is gone."
The five-alarm fire tore through the warehouse at 481 Van Brunt St. just before 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the FDNY said. Officials said the fire continued to burn through Friday morning.
Lanoba, one of the businesses housed in the location, was started by Danish immigrant Balderskilde in 2015 after he moved to America, as outlined on the store's website. Balderskilde specialized in bringing vintage Danish mid-century design to the United
