BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Intermittent closures are set to impact University Avenue, from River Boulevard to Columbus Street, for pavement rehabilitation until Dec. 22.

The project will reconstruct University Avenue by removing existing asphalt on the roadway and repaving and adding thermoplastic and green methyl methacrylate striping, lane marking accessible sidewalks and more.

Traffic is scheduled to be impacted between 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to city officials.

Lane reductions and closures are expected.
