PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Fire officials say a woman who was hiking a trail in north Phoenix is in critical condition after she was rescued off the mountain Friday afternoon.

Phoenix Fire crews responded to North Mountain around 1:15 p.m. after reports of an elderly woman suffering from the heat.

Firefighters and rescuers arrived and carried the woman off the mountain. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Fire officials said they’ve not sure how long the hiker was outside, and it’s unclear which specific trail she was on.

No other injuries were reported. No other information has been released.
