CHARLESTON — Six gunshots rung out through a darkened North Charleston neighborhood in the early hours of May 6, 2020. A resident’s security camera recorded a man in the driver’s seat of a car parked barely inside the camera’s frame. He was the target of the gunfire.
More than five years later in the murder trial for the man accused of firing those gunshots, prosecutors presented witnesses against 41-year-old Quinton Anthony Taylor. They included former friends, a girlfriend, local, state and federal investigators, and an incarcerated inmate accused of being the middleman in a paid hit.
On Sept. 19, a jury found Taylor guilty of murdering 27-year-old DeAndre Javaan Omar Rivers.
Taylor will spend rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
