ALLEGAN, Mich. (WOOD) — A student who attended school online was arrested Friday after authorities learned of a threat, Allegan Public Schools says.
In a letter to families posted to the district's website, Superintendent James Antoine said that early Friday morning, federal authorities tipped off local police that they had learned of "concerning online conversations involving the student."
Allegan police went to a student's home and said they found "credible evidence of a possible incident." The student was arrested.
That all happened before the start of school.
"(A)ll students were safe throughout the school day, and there is no ongoing danger to our schools," Antoine told families.
