TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Riding the bus has come a long way in Tucson.
Sun Tran is now 50 years old, but public transit has existed here since the 1800s.
Riders were getting a party downtown Friday, even as Sun Tran continues to ask them about what they need for safety.
“Happy birthday, Sun Tran! It’s amazing, and I hope you know, the best!” said Sun Tran rider Joseph Montoya as he made a quick stop at Ronstadt Transit Center on Friday. He spotted the festivities for Sun Tran’s birthday and recalled his own memories that date back four decades.
“Back in ’85, you know, I remember, as a kid, growing up, you know, little, little Joseph, my mom, going on the bus a lot, you know, and the bus would be shaking, it’s an old bus, you know? So it’s amazing now. It’s a lot different,” Montoya re
