HAMPTON, Va. — One person is dead and two people are injured after a stabbing on Friday night near the Hampton Coliseum.
The stabbing happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Coliseum Drive. When officers arrived, they found two men injured. Both men were taken to a hospital, where one of them, 41-year-old Brent Buda of Chesapeake, later died. A third man later walked into a hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
Investigators said the stabbings stemmed from an argument among several people that escalated into a physical fight. Police said the suspect ran away but was quickly detained by additional officers in the area.
The incident happened as the band Phish performed the first of three sold-out shows at the Coliseum, which sits near the Hampton Roads Convention C
