Mississippi-based Quality Poultry & Seafood, Inc. is recalling approximately 98,916 pounds of catfish fillets.

According to an announcement from the USDA, the catfish fillets “were produced without the benefit of federal inspection.”

Food produced without inspection may contain “undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants that put consumer health and safety at risk,” the USDA said in the announcement.

The catfish fillet items were produced from Sept. 2 to Sept. 5 and shipped to restaurants and retail locations in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, as well as from the establishment’s retail store.
