GLEN COVE, New York (WABC) -- Officials are investigating the cause of a fire that ripped through part of a hospital on Long Island on Saturday morning.

The fire broke out just after 11 a.m. at the Glen Cove Hospital on Saint Andrew's Lane in Nassau County.

According to Assistant Chief Fire Marshal James Hickman, responding firefighters arrived and discovered the fire in the roof area of the hospital building.

The fire was put under control about an hour later. Upon further investigation, officials found fire and water damage to the walls in an emergency room up to the roof line.

There were no reported injuries to people in the hospital or to firefighters.
