Three people were shot in the McDonogh area of Algiers on Saturday afternoon, New Orleans police said.

Police responded to the report of a shooting at around 1:10 p.m. at the intersection of Nunez and Newton Streets on the West Bank.

They found one victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Two other victims had gone to a hospital by private conveyance.
