MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — West Virginia's Pawpaw festival took place at WVU's Core Arboretum on Saturday, allowing attendees to learn more about the fruit and enjoy vendors and pawpaw related activities.

The pawpaw is the largest native fruit in West Virginia. Some describe it as a combination of a banana, mango, and pineapple. The fruit can also be used to create different types of food items.

An information booth was set up by the American Pawpaw Growers Association to educate people on the fruit and to show examples of insects that the fruit benefit.
