MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — In an effort to ensure that kids are well-protected while riding in a vehicle, WVU Medicine Children's Injury Prevention and Safety Program hosted its child car seat safety check on Monday.

During the event, parents could drive into the parking lot outside of WVU Medicine Children's Hospital and have someone from the Injury Prevention team look at their child's car seats to make sure they were installed correctly.

“Over half of car seats on the road are used incorrectly. So it's really important that caregivers have a place that is non-judgmental. They can come and get their car seats fixed,” Abby Rader of the Injury Prevention team said.
