FRESNO, Calif. -- A solo-vehicle collision early Saturday morning has claimed the life of one man in Mariposa County.

Shortly after 2 a.m. officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to the area of Highway 49 and Quail Hill Road for reports of a vehicle that crashed into a tree.

When officers arrived, they found a single male driver who sustained fatal injuries in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
