Storms knock out power for 1,000+ in Monongalia County

WESTOVER, W.Va. — Some pop-up showers in Monongalia County have left some neighbors without power.

According to the Mon Power outage map, over 1,500 customers are without power. Over 1,100 are reported in Westover and Granville while another approximately 400 are reported in housing developments along Stewartstown Road in northern end of the county.

Outage reports say that power is estimated to be restored around 9 p.m. as service crews access the issue, however more crews have been sent to to the Westover outage due to the "complexity of the repairs."

As of publication there have been no reports of damage from the passing storms.
