ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Custom and vintage cars lined Old Town Plaza on Saturday. Dozens of residents and tourists gathered to gaze at the styling of vintage cars dating back to the 1930s and New Mexico's beloved lowrider culture.
One man in attendance said his 1965 Chevy van has been a long-time passion project. "We happened to find this one about 15 years ago, and a total restore from the ground up, and it was fun, and it brought back memories for me as a teenager in the '70s; they were party vans back then," said vintage car owner Johnny Barraza Jr.
The event was free for all ages.
