Mount Holly continues to pursue park expansion, despite failed referendum

Mount Holly is in talks with a developer for work to expand Veterans Park, a project that would add an amphitheater and other amenities.

The developer, StreetLights Residential, approached the city several months ago about the possibility of a partnership, City Manager Jonathan Blanton said.

"We've been in discussions, very early, high-level discussions over the past few months," Blanton said. "They have visited several times, they've toured the site, and they've presented the city council with a memorandum of understanding that was unanimously approved," he said.
