A judge on Thursday granted bond to a man that the Warren County Sheriff’s Office accuses of plotting to murder someone.

Michael Dewayne Massey II appeared in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court where he stands charged with the attempted murder of a county woman on Aug. 9. Massey, 33, of 1127 N. Royal Ave., had been held without bond at the Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail since his arrest on Sept. 4.

Court documents allege that Massey planned to kill two people with a claw hammer and then point an airsoft pistol at law enforcement as a suicide-by-cop.

Judge Nancie Williams granted Massey a $5,000 unsecured bond but ordered that he have no contact with the alleged target or set foot on the person’s property. Williams ordered Massey to report to the Northweste
