STEPHENS CITY — Town Manager Mike Majher had some important updates for town officials at last wee's work session regarding Stephens City’s nearly system-wide replacement of sewer lines, which has been ramping up recently.

The town — the second oldest in the Shenandoah Valley — has been faced with the need to replace aging pipes for years. But a settlement agreement signed in 2019 with Frederick Water is part of the reason the town has recently increased efforts to replace old pipes. Frederick Water is a utility that provides water and sewer service to about 17,000 customers.
