FRONT ROYAL — The Warren County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking help from the community to raise funds for a matching grant to purchase a new piece of play equipment.
Tiffany Walker, director of the parks and recreation department, said that the county was awarded a grant from GameTime for the purchase of a ninja course climbing structure. With two entry points and platforms, the composite piece of equipment has slides and is geared toward children ages 5 to 12, Walker said.
She said that the grant is for $50,000 and the county must raise matching funds, noting that it has already raised $25,000. The remainder of the money must be raised by Oct. 1, Walker said, noting that she hopes to have the equipment installed later this year or in early 2026 in Lions Park near FantasyLand
