Volunteer awards recipients announced

Pitkin County has announced the recipients of the 2025 Pitkin County Cares Volunteer Service and Greg Mace Awards. Twenty-eight Roaring Fork Valley residents were recognized for their service, leadership and commitment to the community.

Now in its 25th year, the program honors individuals and groups who have made lasting impacts in categories such as arts, children and youth, civics, community belonging, Crystal Valley heroes, education, environment, good Samaritan, health, rising stars and seniors.

The Greg Mace Award, established in 1986 in memory of Mountain Rescue Aspen volunteer Greg Mace, honors his legacy of service after he died in a climbing accident on North Maroon Peak.
