DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers are moving up their final home game of the regular season by 30 minutes. Just in case.
With the possibility of rain later in the afternoon and evening, the Tigers opted not to take any chances. The game will now start at 1:10 p.m. instead of 1:40.
Late-season rain delays can cause scheduling headaches given the tight turnaround between the end of the regular season and the start of the playoffs.
Although the Tigers have an off day on Monday before starting a three-game series in Cleveland, the Braves open a series against the Nationals in Atlanta on Tuesday.
