The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded to 39 Baird St. in Mattapan shortly after 5 a.m. for what turned into two-alarm fire.

The department reports no injuries, but says 11 people were displaced. An MBTA bus was brought in for them to escape the morning chill as the Red Cross worked to find places for them to stay.

Firefighters responded even as other fire crews were battling a three-alarm fire about two miles away on Centre Street in Dorchester.
