PHILADELPHIA — Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson suffered a neck injury on the first drive of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams and is questionable to return.
Matt Pryor has stepped in for Johnson. Pryor is a better guard than tackle and could struggle against the Rams’ talented pass rushers. He played the first two seasons of his career (2019-2020) with the Eagles and re-joined the team this past offseason on a one-year deal.
The Eagles can’t afford to lose Johnson, who is the best right tackle in the NFL. He was in the blue medical tent with the trainers for two drives and has since returned to the bench, but he hasn’t been cleared to play yet. Pryor stayed in at right tackle on Philadelphia’s third offensive possession.
