KATY, Texas (KIAH) -- A baseball coach was injured after being shot in the shoulder in a hunting mishap in Katy authorities said.
A 27-year-old man who was coaching a game at The RAC baseball facility in Katy on Sunday morning at 9:50 a.m. According to a statement from the facility, the man was shot due to “recreational shooting on a nearby property.”
The Waller County Sheriff’s Office was called and provided care for the man, who was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
All practices at the RAC have been paused until the investigation is completed.
Three people have been detained as people of interest in the incident, the sheriff’s office said. There are no arrests currently.
