Former EastEnders star Ross Kemp has paid a candid tribute to his late onscreen mum Barbara Windsor in a ‘never far away’ admission.

Fans were delighted to see Ross’ Grant Mitchell back in Walford earlier in the year for the soap’s 40th anniversary celebrations, where he rekindled his romance with Sharon Watts.

Grant shared a heartwarming moment with his brother Phil Mitchell , when he helped him get admitted to a mental health facility following his battle with depression.

Ross arrived on the BBC soap in 1990, shortly after Phil actor Steve McFadden, going on to be a fan favourite until his exit in 1999.

Prior to going on to focus on making documentaries, Ross’ time on Albert Square saw him involved in Sharongate and witnessing the death of his onscreen wife Tiffa
