CANTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- Nearly 150 community members gathered in Jones Park Friday night to honor the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk.

The vigil served as a space for remembrance, reflection and healing following Kirk’s death.

Community members lit candles, shared personal stories, and participated in group prayer. Several guest speakers also took the stage, offering remarks about Kirk’s lasting impact and the importance of civility in public discourse.

The vigil's organizer urged attendees to focus on unity over division.
