MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WITN) - Multiple fire crews worked to put out a house fire in Morehead City Sunday afternoon.

According to Morehead City Fire-EMS, Sunday, just after 3:30 p.m., crews went to a home on the 1700 block of Shepard Street for a fire.

Beaufort and Atlantic Beach fire departments soon also arrived on scene to help. Officials say smoke could be seen coming from the roof of the house, and it was discovered to be coming from the attic toward the back of the house.

No one was in the home at the time, and officials say there were no injuries. The extent of damage is unknown as of now, as the fire departments were still on scene as of 4:15 p.m.

The fire is now under investigation.
