Infrastructure office like an '80s movie keeps staff at home

There are many reasons why people choose not to work from the office these days. The hassle of commuting keeps some at home, while the allure of working in ugg boots can be enough for others.

For some of the staff at the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts , the reluctance to work from the office is more about the vibe of the thing.

A department official recently told a parliamentary committee that office attendance was particularly low at a couple of buildings.

"Some of the reason, I think, that we have our low occupancy is the age, the look and the feel of our current fit-out," Maree Bridger , the department's chief operating officer, said.
