BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Sheriff's Office said it is searching for an inmate that escaped custody late Saturday night.
Officials said, at around 11 p.m., an inmate escaped from the custody of Kern County detentions deputies while the inmate was being transported for an appointment. A search was immediately launched and is ongoing, the sheriff's office said in an email Sunday.
KCSO said no further information would be released due to the active investigation.
Officials did not identify the inmate, provide a photo or a description of the inmate, or a location from where the inmate escaped from.
But social media video showed a man in an orange jumpsuit and white shoes running through a parking lot at Kern Medical. The video showed the man briefly fall, get up, and con
