MOORHEAD — The scoreboard might have been a bit lopsided, but the Minnesota State Moorhead soccer bench remained energized.
The Dragons were cheering on their younger players in the final minutes of an eventual 4-0 loss to the Wayne State Wildcats in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play on Sunday at Nemzek Soccer Field.
Dragons head coach Scott Forster said the final score didn’t accurately reflect his team’s performance.
“We played really well today,” Forster said. “If you watch the film back, I bet you don’t know which team was the one that scored four goals.”
MSUM outshot the Wildcats 20-16, but struggled putting shots on net with six. Wayne State had 12 shots on goal.
“We were unlucky to not get on the score sheet,” Forster said.
Wayne State scored two goals in each half.
