NEW MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police arrested an assistant coach for a New Milford youth football team after he allegedly pushed a player during a game Sunday afternoon.
Officers identified the assistant coach as 38-year-old Daniel Fazio of New Milford.
The New Milford Bulls were playing against the Water-Oak Youth Football Team at New Milford High School when police say Fazio pushed a 7-year-old player on the Water-Oak team to the ground.
Officers said this caused a dispute between the two assistant coaches.
Fazio was arrested and charged with Risk of Injury to a Minor, Disorderly Conduct and Breach of Peace, according to police.
No injuries were reported and police said Fazio was released on a $20,000 bond.
Fazio is expected to appear at Torrington Superior Court on Oct. 2.
