BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - When Dayton’s opened its doors in Bismarck, it quickly became a community favorite.

The high-end department store operated for 20 years. Many of its employees remember it fondly and decided to get together two decades after its closure.

Dayton’s closed 20 years ago, but for its employees, it feels like only yesterday.

“We were at a friend, a coworker’s funeral last September, Amy McNellie, who is one of the ladies that locked the door for the last time at Dayton’s, and there were four or five of us, and we started to talk about how wonderful it was to work there,” said Bonnie Tolmac, former counter manager.

So, they reached out to their former coworkers on Facebook and organized a reunion.
