BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Hundreds of people gathered at the Bismarck airport Monday evening to welcome home veterans on board the Western North Dakota Honor Flight.

One hundred fifteen veterans left Bismarck Sunday morning and spent two days touring Washington, D.C.

They say that while the trip was amazing, this welcome home is by far the best part of the trip.

“This is amazing! Absolutely amazing! Way better than 50 years ago when we came off the airplane,” said Mike Marbeck, Navy veteran.

One hundred eighteen more veterans will leave Tuesday morning for another Honor Flight. They’ll return on Wednesday evening at 7:15 p.m.

Everyone is once again encouraged to head out to the Bismarck airport and welcome them home.
