LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - All weekend, community members in Lansing could connect with literature through the 2nd annual Lansing Lit Festival.
The festival allows people to improve their literacy skills while also seeing local bookstores.
Several businesses were involved with this year’s festival, including the REO Town Clubhouse, which had its first-ever Lansing Lit Merchant Market.
Casey Holland, an organizer, shared the story of how the event began.
“So the Lansing Lit was born from just a lot of the bookstore owners kind of talking about how now that we got so many book stores that have popped up in this area,” said Holland. “We all kind of started popping up around the same time and this feels like a good way to just all come together and work together to bring a fantastic book fest
