LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Community members got the chance to listen and sing along to some music in Lansing’s Old Town for free on Sunday with the Sing Out for Peace.

The event ties into several events that is put on by PeaceQuest for International Peace Day.

The free event welcomed the community for a sing-along and concert.

A mix of tunes was played to uplift and inspire, whether people wanted to sing-along or simply listen.

Reverend Mary Sabaj opened up on how music connects people.

“We are gathered here to sing out for peace, in a world that really needs it,“ said Sabaj. “Bringing folks together, the energy of this evening and tonight, everyone has peace on their hearts and their minds, and at a time when we really need it very much in this country.”
