A childcare worker has been charged with assaulting a child at a daycare centre in NSW's central west.
Police began investigating after receiving a report of a four-year-old being assaulted at a centre on George Street in Bathurst on August 29.
It is alleged the 18-year-old female staff member grabbed the child by the arm and dragged him across the room, before grabbing him a second time and throwing him onto a mattress.
The child's shirt was ripped near the armpit during the incident, police said.
The 18-year-old woman was issued with a court attendance notice for common assault today.
She is no longer employed at the daycare centre, according to police.
The charged woman will front Bathurst Local Court on November 17.
