Sen. Jack Reed sounds alarm on book bans, faculty purges at West Point

For the last 67 years, The U.S. Military Academy has presented the Thayer Award to an outstanding citizen whose service and accomplishments exemplify the ideals of the West Point motto, “Duty, Honor, Country.”

This is West Point’s closest equivalent to an honorary degree. Past recipients have included a Who’s Who of the 20th and 21st centuries, including presidents, Cabinet secretaries, astronauts and even activists.
