Rain is falling out west in Illinois and likely to reach the area in spots by mid-morning (8 to 9 a.m.) and push through the afternoon. Cloudy skies are rolling in at this time, but most of the morning rush hour looks dry. Out-the-door temperatures are mild, while holding in the middle to upper 60s.
This afternoon will bring rain in spots and a few storms too! Some steadier rain will fall, slowing or ending outdoor projects altogether. Rainfall potential could range between .25" to .75" in spots before winding down by early evening.
Some fog and lingering showers are expected overnight with mild temperatures.
Wednesday will bring another larger push of rainfall before a drier trend returns slowly on Thursday and building for the upcoming weekend.
