AIKEN — A half-century of sisterhood, philanthropy and service was in the spotlight at a Houndslake Country Club gathering Sept. 18, with dozens of past and present members of Aiken Woman's Club together to celebrate the club's 50th anniversary.
The assembly included a visit from Chapin resident Suzanne Carswell, president of South Carolina's chapter of General Federated Women's Clubs ; and also from Mayor Pro Tempore Ed Girardeau, who presented an Aiken City Council proclamation saluting the club and naming Sept. 18 as "Aiken Woman's Club Day" in the community.
