The Government has announced it will be boosting its support for more than two million Brits who are claiming Universal Credit.

It is set to affect 2.2 million people who are currently signed off work due to sickness such as mental health conditions, bad backs, or high blood pressure, according to the Government.

People on long-term sick leave will be offered extra support to help them get back to work, as part of the Government's commitment to reducing the amount of Brits signed off work.

Around 1,000 Jobcentre staff will be redeployed to provide help to those people on Universal Credit due to their inability to work, offering upskilling opportunities as well as job training in key sectors. View 3 Images
