WEST FARGO, N.D. — Avian influenza activity has started to ramp up in North Dakota and South Dakota over recent weeks. Health experts in North Dakota are hoping to keep the public informed on what this virus is capable of.
Even as activity was nearly non-existent during the summer months across the upper Midwest, a partnership was built to enhance efforts around awareness and preparedness for highly pathogenic avian influenza in North Dakota. That partnership includes North Dakota State University Extension, NDSU Center for Immunization Research and Education , and North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services. They are focused on providing the public with accurate, timely information on the topic, as well as supporting poultry and dairy producers through outreach. It was made
