Matt Rhule didn’t want his team playing scared against Michigan on Saturday. On the game’s opening drive, he went for it on fourth-and-2 from the Michigan 6.

Analytics backed him up, but so did his gut. “If you want to beat Michigan, you’re going to have to get those plays,” he told reporters postgame.

On that play, Michigan made the stop. The Wolverines made more plays throughout in a 30-27 win in the Big Ten opener.
