SUNRAY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — It took nine months, more than $8 million, and brought more than 100 jobs to the area during its construction.

The expanded interchange project for the Texas Northwestern (TXNW) Railway in Etter, will allow for more traffic, longer trains and quicker operations.

Joey Evans is all about keeping the area's regional rail operations strong.

"I want to see TXNW be the regional juggernaut of everything that happens in this community," said Evans, the Director of Support for the TNW Corporation, the parent company of the TXNW Railway. "The Etter interchange project that was funded through the FRA (Federal Railroad Administration) CRISI grant, which is the consolidated rail infrastructure safety improvement program."
