A magnitude 4.3 earthquake (that was originally recorded as a magnitude 4.6) shook Oakland and the East Bay at 2:56 a.m Monday morning, according to early reporting by the United States Geological Survey.

Its epicenter was in Berkeley’s Elmwood neighborhood, at the intersection of Dwight Way and Piedmont Avenue, according to the USGS.

The earthquake had a depth of 4.8 miles.
