(FOX40.COM) — A 12-year-old boy is in custody after leading deputies on a vehicle pursuit on Monday morning, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.

SCSO said the boy took his parents' vehicle around 7 a.m. and drove to his old school on 8140 Caymus Drive. The 12-year-old ran over traffic cones and then left the area.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies located the boy and attempted to stop him, but were led on a vehicle pursuit through the neighborhood.

The boy then hit a patrol unit and another parked car in the area of Gerber Road and Valley Wood Drive.

SCSO said no one was injured, and the boy was taken into custody.
