Augusta residents can expect temperatures hitting near 90 degrees with mostly sunny skies this week with a chance for rain later in the week, according to the seven-day forecast.
Matt Gropp, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Columbia, South Carolina, said the Augusta area will be pretty dry the first half of the week.
“I would call this a classic, late summer resurgence, where we'll be into the mid, low to mid 90s until around Wednesday and Thursday,” said Gropp. “But Wednesday and Thursday we’ll have a summer-like pattern that's going to develop later this week.
“I'm not really expecting much for the Augusta area in terms of showers or thunderstorms until we get to Thursday. Then we'll have a front that comes through at that point, bringing with it some cooler weather
