QUINCY (WGEM) - Quincy University hosted a crowd of inspired artists in honor of the late Bob Mejer.

Mejer, a well-known artist and beloved professor, served in his community for 56 years.

Father John Doctor officiated the memorial service with several speakers representing organizations impacted by Mejer’s years of service to the university and community were on hand at the reception.

A Retrospective art show opening featured many of Mejer’s works, including personal works and paintings in his award-winning watercolor style.

Pieces have been provided by the permanent collections of the Quincy Art Center and Quincy University, along with several private collectors.

Mejer has also been awarded posthumously with a lifetime achievement award by the Watercolor Honor Society.
