Guelph police are investigating the death of a 38-year-old woman after she was struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street.
Police said the woman and her husband, 38, and three-year-old daughter, in a stroller, were walking across the street at the intersection of Paisley Road and Alma Street North Friday, just after 5 p.m., when they were hit by the pickup truck.
All three were taken to Guelph hospital where the woman died. The husband was treated for minor injuries and released, and their daughter was airlifted to a Hamilton trauma centre as a precaution but was released the same night.
The driver, a 19-year-old man from Northern Ontario, was not physically injured, police said.
