AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - Western Bank held a groundbreaking ceremony Monday morning for its planned banking center at 8611 Patriot Dr., which is expected to open in fall 2026.

Officials noted bank executives, board members, employees and other community members were in attendance at the groundbreaking, and expressed hopes the new location "will help meet the growing needs" of Amarillo and its surrounding areas.

Construction is set to be led by Southwest General Contractors to build the new facility, which officials said will be 12,000 square feet and include "state-of-the-art technology, full-service drive-thru lanes, and a community meeting space."
