UCF assistant football coach Shawn Clark has died, the university announced on Monday. He was 50 years old.
Clark, who was previously the head coach at Appalachian State, was working as the offensive line coach for the Knights.
The news comes after Clark experienced a medical emergency earlier this month. UCF said in its statement that Clark experienced a medical emergency on Sept. 9 but was in stable condition before dying unexpectedly on Sunday.
Shawn Clark died Sunday at a local hospital with his wife, Jonelle, by his side, according to the release. A cause of death was not announced.
